One of the vendors we’re excited to highlight is Rye Street Events, a Connecticut-based wedding planning and coordination company led by Caroline Mazzarella. 1. How long have you been providing wedding services to couples?
Rye Street Events has been providing wedding services to couples since late 2023. Caroline established the event planning small business within the realm of smaller intimate private events/showers, and quickly grew into the wedding coordination and planning industry throughout 2024 up to present day and beyond.
2. What is the one question couples can ask to get the most out of the services you offer?
“Will I actually be able to sit back and enjoy my wedding day?”. Short answer, absolutely yes – that is one of our main priorities and the reason why couples are hiring Rye Street Events. Whether you are contracting with us for month-of coordination and management or at the partial planning level, one of the key aspects of either packages/service offerings is the fact that our couples have myself and an additional assistant coordination on site for the entirety of their wedding day. Being on site for the duration of all formalities and events throughout your day allow for us to seamlessly manage all day of logistics, coordinate efficiently with your other vendors, run setup and breakdown duties, and expedite and remedy any potential hiccups that may occur without our couples knowing. This just skims the surface on what our team is doing on the day-of, however this all certainly ensures that our couples are sitting back, relaxing, fully being present, and enjoying the heck out of the ultimate party being thrown to celebrate their love. Our couples are truly guests at their own wedding!
3. What do you enjoy most about working on a wedding day?
Besides loving some of the commotion and organized chaos during set up and prep hours, I personally enjoy witnessing that post ceremony joy and sometimes relief in our couples! There is so much running through our couples’ heads leading up to their ceremonies – and after those ‘I Dos’ are said and that recessional is completed, the post ceremony glow truly warms our hearts and gives us that extra boost of confidence and energy going into the remaining formalities of their evening of celebration.
4. What can wedding industry vendors collectively do to improve the quality of services provided to couples?
Effective and kind communication! Be kind to yourselves, and be kind and courteous and understanding to the other vendors within your vendor team who are all working collaboratively together for the couple to bring their special day to life. Without having that level of communication, courtesy, and kindness, vendor dynamics can easily be skewed and truly can impact the outcome and product of the couples’ day.
5. In your experience, what is a common misconception couples have about vendors in your area of expertise?
We are there to serve the couple and assist and support them throughout their planning process. Sometimes, with working so closely with a couple for a long period of time, there becomes a misconception that planners and coordinators are able to/should mediate potential family dynamics throughout the planning process or on the day-of. We are there to provide expert advice and direction, but being a mediator or therapist amongst people with mixed opinions or ideas does not fall under our scope of services.
